Details of the New Ohio Plant

July 16th, 2019 by Morgan Marketing

Morgan Truck Body, LLC, North America’s largest manufacturer of light- and medium-duty truck bodies, announces the expansion of its manufacturing footprint in the Midwest. The new facility is located at 600 East Chestnut St.in Orrville, OH, approximately one-half hour west of Canton. It will be capable of producing a combination of 4,000 dry freight and refrigerated truck bodies annually, supporting both retail and fleet customers. Morgan expects to employ approximately 140 team members in a facility that will encompass roughly 210,000 square feet of production, office, and warehouse space. When combined with Morgan’s acquisition of Multivans in Bolton, Ontario and the opening of a plant in Plainfield, Connecticut in late 2018, the Orrville plant represents Morgan’s 14thin the US and Canada.

Morgan has been the leader in Final Mile transportation solutions for more than 65 years.

“Morgan continues executing its aggressive growth strategy by launching innovative new products, penetrating new markets, and pursuing key acquisitions. This has resulted in record revenues, thus allowing us to expand even further with new production facilities,” stated Norb Markert, President and CEO.

“We’re excited for the opportunity and value this plant will offer the Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and western Pennsylvania markets. By recruiting the most talented individuals, Morgan will continue delivering industry-leading quality products and services to our valued customers,” added Wallace Davis, Operations Director for the Orville plant.

A team including JobsOhio, Team NEO, Wayne Economic Development Council and the City of Orrville collaborated to ensure Morgan chose Northeast Ohio for its expansion.

“This investment speaks to the confidence Morgan has in the talent at its Orrville facility,” said Jonathan Bridges, JobsOhio automotive sector director.  “Morgan is growing rapidly throughout North America, and we are excited that 140 more Northeast Ohioans will support the company’s success.”

“Wayne County’s strong manufacturing community was a critical factor for Morgan choosing Northeast Ohio for their expansion,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “Thanks to the commitment of our cross-organizational team that drove this positive outcome.”

“The City of Orrville is excited about the addition of Morgan to our community and look forward to building a strong partnership for many years to come,” added Mike Hedberg, Manager Orrville Office of Economic Development. “We greatly appreciate the efforts of the Wayne Economic Development Council, Team NEO and JobsOhio for their assistance in bringing this project to fruition.”

“Morgan will reside in a facility and community with a legacy of manufacturing,” said Tom Pukys, President of Wayne Economic Development Council. “We believe the company will be pleased with their decision to join our growing economy with a portfolio of dynamic global businesses.”
