A stake body is a platform truck body fitted with removable vertical stakes and side panels that help secure cargo while maintaining open loading access. This design combines the flexibility of a flatbed with additional cargo containment for loads that need side support but don’t require a fully enclosed truck body.
Stake bodies are widely used for transporting landscaping materials, palletized products, construction supplies, bagged goods, fencing, nursery stock, and equipment. Because the side panels can often be removed, operators can quickly convert the truck from an enclosed platform to a flat loading surface when transporting oversized materials.
Unlike dry freight truck bodies, stake bodies allow forklifts and cranes to access cargo from multiple directions, making loading and unloading more efficient for many commercial applications.
